Pole and Aerial Yoga Student Handbook

The Pole and Aerial Yoga Student Handbook is the official handbook of BodyMind Fitness, providing students with resources, and overview of our classes and administrative procedures.


You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with the contents of this handbook. Students are required to comply with the rules and regulations in the Student Handbook.


We have tried to cover all the questions that our students have, so that you are thoroughly prepared and so that you can get the best out of the classes. Please print it out and keep it handy!


5 Day Detox and Weight Loss Guide

If you are feeling tired, run down, struggling with digestive issues, sugar cravings, stressed, anxious, having difficulty sleeping or just looking for a boost to get you started, then this is the guide for you!


We'll take you through an easy to follow meal plan that:


  1. Won't break the bank or that you need to buy expensive items for.
  2. Comprises of tasty and satisfying foods that you will enjoy!

About the plan

This plan is different to most as we will not be focusing on counting calories or macros but rather on eating good quality, nutritious food and practicing mindful eating. We will learn to listen to our body to know when we are hungry (or just bored!). We will also learn how to put nutritious meal plans together that we can follow after lock down has ended. 


We will start with a Detox day and then move on to our carb cycling. This is one day of eating lower carb, followed by one day of eating higher carb. The final day is a flex day where you eat a combo of low carb in the beginning of the day and higher carb towards the end of the day.

Happy Hips and Hammies Challenge

If you suffer from tight hips or hamstrings, then this challenge is just what you need! 


All you need to do for this challenge is:

  • Dedicate 10 minutes every day to improving your hamstring and hip flexibility.
  • Take a before and after picture so you can compare your improvements! 
  • A mat, yoga block and strap – if you don’t have then just be a bit creative - use a carpet, firm pillow and belt (or even a dressing gown strap)


The challenge consists of 4 foundational stretches that are to be done every day.


In addition to the foundational stretches, one new stretch will be done every day. For example on day 4 you would do the 4 foundational stretches plus day 4’s stretch. On day 10 you would do the 4 foundational stretches plus day 10’s stretch (you do not have to do all the preceding day’s stretches- just the day you are on).


Important note: You must be warm to stretch! Stretching with cold muscles can lead to injuries. Its best to stretch after your workout or to do a 5 – 10 minute low intensity warm up beforehand. You can also stretch after a hot bath when the muscles are warm.


Examples of warm ups: skipping, jogging on the spot, going for a brisk walk (bonus you get a bit of cardio in for the day!).
